In-Mold Labeling (IML) Working Process
The fully synchronized IML robotic system works precisely with the blow molding cycle to ensure perfect labeling results:
Once the mold opens after pre-blowing, the high-precision robotic arm automatically picks pre-printed labels through vacuum suction. The robot accurately positions and attaches labels flat onto the inner mold cavity surface. Vacuum fixation keeps labels smooth, wrinkle-free and displacement-free during mold closing.
During the blow molding process, high temperature and air pressure fuse the label tightly with the molten plastic parison. The label becomes an integral part of the container wall instead of simple surface adhesion. After cooling and molding, finished 5L jerry cans are ejected with perfectly embedded, seamless labels.
